Victor Cook

I'm a college professor with three sons, three grandsons, and two step daughters.

Freeman Professor of Doctoral Studies and Research, Senior Fellow Goldring Institute for International Business, and Emeritus Professor of Enterprise Marketing Strategy, Freeman School of Business, Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana 70118-5669. I'm also president and design director of a furniture manufacturing and retailing company (http://www.thestyle.com) located in New Orleans, West Palm Beach, and Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.

I received my B.A. at Florida State University, an M.S. from Louisiana State University, and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. I began my academic career as a doctoral fellow at the Marketing Science Institute (MSI) and a Lecturer in Marketing at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Then I moved to Cambridge, MA as Associate Director of Research when MSI moved to the Harvard Business School. After that I served six years as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Chicago.

The Style Furniture Corporation designs, manufactures and sells to collectors a complete line of scaleable modern furniture in the manner of de Stijl. All our products are hand made from solid hardwoods in Brasil. My oldest son and I are responsible for the operations of the company, the design of our products, manufacturing specifications, sales, distribution and installation. He is Vice President of Manufacturing.
